Midweek Thought For Meditation- 4/22/26

Hi Everyone,
We are called, this week, to live in unity and peace.  The verses teach that peace begins within and must be lived out with others.  When we choose unity, we become part of a greater blessing of compassion and love.

Live in harmony with everyone.

It’s no longer good enough to cry peace, we must act peace, live peace and live in peace.
Native American Religions.  Shenandoah proverb

CHRISTIANITY

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  Romans 12:18
Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace.        Romans 14:19

ISLAM

Hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah stretches out for you, and do not be divided amongst yourselves…       Let there spring from you a community inviting to all that is good, enjoying what is right, and forbidding what is wrong.  Such people will surely triumph.         Qur’an  3.103-104

BUDDHISM

Happy is the life of those who live in harmony.          Dhammapada 194

HINDUISM

Let your aims be common, and your hearts of one accord, and all of you be of one mind, so you may live well together.                         Rig Veda 10.191.4

Judaism

How good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! …For there the Lord bestowed his blessing, even life forevermore.    Psalm 133.1,3
“Seek peace and pursue it”(Ps. 34.14)      Not only do you seek peace for your own locale, but you must pursue it in another.                           Leviticus Rabbah IX.IX

CONFUCIANISM

My doctrine is that of an all-pervading unity.              Analects 4.15

TAOISM

Who regards self as the world may accept the world.  Tao Te Ching 13

Owen's pick!
This artist, Billy Gilman, was Owen’s favorite childhood singer. He and Mattie JT Stepanek, the little boy’s voice you will hear towards the end of the song, had a great influence on his life for a long time.  This is a change of pace from rap.
